Car Crash Kills Man
A rural Muscatine man was killed in a traffic accident near Fredonia early Sunday morning.

Billy Butler, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene after his car left Louisa County G-40 about four miles north of Fredonia about 7 a.m., according to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.

Billy D. Butler, 41, Route 6, Box 591, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 1990, of injuries resulting in auto accident.

Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 3, 1990, at 1:30 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Corwin will officiate. Pat Dilts will be organist. Pallbearers will be Bill Wroe, Dan Yates, Jack Cozad, Scott Butler, John Puckett, Gary Brown and Rich Olinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Brown, Jr., Arthur Sprague and Wes Wilkey. Burial will be at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 2, 1990, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where a memorial has been established.

Mr. Butler was born Nov. 20, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., a son of Ralph and Betty Jean Hiebner Butler.

He had worked at IBP for four years.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. William (Shannon) Wroe, of Route 6, Muscatine; and Kim Brown, of Muscatine; and an aunt, Alice Tobias, of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and one sister, Melody.
