WALTER W. FOOR

Walter W. Foor, 54, 2214 New Hampshire, Muscatine, died Thursday at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, after a brief illness.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Riley Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Strickland officiating.

Friends may call Sunday afternoon, starting at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted jointly by the V.F.W., American Legion and WWI Veterans.

Pallbearers will be Robert Foor, Donald Rusty Harris, Pat Foor, Charles Foor, Larry Foor, Richard Hathaway and Mark Bailey.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home.

Mr. Foor was born April 14, 1931 at Wapello, the son of Clinton B. and Marie (Otto) Foor. He had been a Muscatine resident most of his life. He was married Nov. 1, 1951 at Lone Tree to Joan Miller.

Mr. Foor was a retired Muscatine policeman, retiring in 1977. He was a veteran of service during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Iowa Association of Police Chiefs and Peace Officers, and the Iowa State Policemen’s Association.

Mr. Foor is survived by three sons, Gary Foor, Walter Wayne Foor and Brian Foor, all of Muscatine; one daughter, Debbie Foor, Muscatine; and two grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, John Foor, Muscatine, Robert Foor, Houma, La., and George Foor, Fruitland; four sisters, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Harris, Muscatine; Mrs. Arley (Nellie) Becker, Fruitland; Mrs. James (Helen) Bailey, Floris, Iowa, and Mrs. Larry (Mary Jo) Anderson, Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
