ALLEN L. JAMES
Allen Lee James, age 59, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died suddenly in flight from Denver to San Francisco on Wednesday, February 17, 1993. He was born May 13, 1933 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Allen C. and Nellie Smith James.
He was a medical market analyst before retiring. He was a graduate of Wapello High School in 1951, a graduate of the University of Iowa in 1955 and attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Eta Sigma.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Bruegmann of Cole Creek Canyon, Golden, Colorado, and Susan James of Boston, Massachusetts; two sons, Tony and Eric, both of Lincoln; and one sister Olive (Mrs. Dwight) Laughlin of Ainsworth, Iowa.
A funeral service was held Saturday at Butherus-Maser & Lowe Mortuary at Lincoln. On Monday, February 22, 1993, at 1:30 P.M., a funeral service was held at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, Iowa, with the Rev. Bill Young officiating. Bev Parsons provided the organ music. Casket bearers were Les Perkins, Bill Paris, Doug Schneider, Everett Webb, Herman Redwine, and Hilton Odie. Burial followed at the Parsons Cemetery with military rites by the Wapello VFW Glen Allen Post 5166.
