Sprinkle, Melvin; (1855-1946) shared stone w/ Kate); {Edit: G Melvin Sprinkle is likely the Germalia M, brother of Edwin, mentioned in the History of Big Bend, published 1904.} “Last Rite for G M Sprinkle. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church in Reardan, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. for G M Sprinkle, resident of the Reardan area for 42 years. The Rev L L Meyers officiated with casket bearers including nephews Harvey Sprinkle, Roy Furgason, Roy Littell, Ed Mahrt, Harold Williams and Frank Lueck. Interment was in the Mondovi Cemetery. G M Sprinkle was born in Wapello, Iowa, Jan 16, 1855 and died Sept 8, 1946 at the age of 91 years, 7 months, and 22 days. He was married to Kate Gellie at Toolesbaro, Iowa on Oct 2, 1890. To this union one child was born, Leonard, who passed away in 1910. The family lived on a farm in Iowa until about 1904 when they came to Washington and settled on a farm north of Reardan. In 1925 he retired from farming and has lived in Reardan since that time. Mr Sprinkle, a member of the Reardan Evangelical church was a genuine Christian. He was a kind and helpful neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his widow, Kate; a brother, C M Sprinkle of Spokane, and a number of nieces and nephews.” (submitted by family; Sept 1946)
