Sprinkle, Kate Gellie; (1868-1947); shared stone w/Melvin); “Kate Gellie Sprinkle. Died: 7-17-1947. Birth: 11-21-1868, Iowa. Spouse: G Melvin Sprinkle. Father: Jas. Gellie. Mother: Margaret Milne. Burial: Mondovi, Washington.” (Lincoln Co Health death card); “Kate Sprinkle Passes Thursday. Kate Gellie Sprinkle was born at Toolesboro, Iowa, Nov 21, 1868 and passed away at her home in Reardan, July 17, 1947, at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 26 days. She was united in marriage to Melvin Sprinkle Oct 2, 1890 at Toolesboro, Iowa. One son, Leonard was born to this union. He passed away in 1910. The family came to Washington in 1904 and settled on a farm near Reardan where they lived until 1925 when they moved into Reardan and have resided since. Her husband preceded her in death in September 1946. Mrs Sprinkle was a faithful member of the Evangelical church and vitally interested in all its activities. She is survived by one sister, Mrs Mary Furgason of Reardan and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 20, at the Evangelical church, Rev L L Myers officiating, assisted by Rev M E Hunsburger of Spokane. Pall bearers were Chris Lucht, Harvey Sprinkle, Ed Mahrt, Harold Williams, all nephews of the deceased. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery, near Mondovi. Among those from out of town attending the funeral services were Mr and Mrs Raymond Foland, Mr and Mrs Chris Lucht, Mr and Mrs T Mellom, Mr and Mrs Howard Bell, Mrs Eva Evers, Marvin Evers, Mrs M E Hunsburger. Rev Paul Hunsburger Mr and Mrs T A Holman, Mr and Mrs James Pershall, Mrs Melvin Sprinkle, Mrs Frank Lueck, Mr and Mrs Ray Littell and James Cribby, all of Spokane; Mrs Roy Furgason of Chelan, Miss Villa Brock of Seattle, Mr and Mrs J A Seagle of Palouse.” (submitted by relative; Dec 1947)
