Mrs. Katherine Sarah Gerst Davis, 84, 1611 Pine Street, Burlington, Iowa died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, February 27,1999, at Burlington Medical Center.

She was born September 23, 1914 in Oakville, Iowa, to Julius R. and Sarah Knapp Gerst She married Oscar Daniel Davis in March 1935 in Burlington; he died April 27,1993.

She was affiliated with the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Burlington).

Mrs. Davis is survived by two daughters, Barbara Powell, Des Moines, and Carolyn Earl of Davenport; five sons, Calvin Davis, Morning Sun, Wayne Davis, Charitan, Stanley Davis, Marshalltown, Steven Davis, Pocatello, Idaho, and Ernest Davis; Charitan; five brothers, Herbert (Dick) Gerst, Mediapolis, George Gerst, Columbus Junction, Adolph Gerst and Ernest Gent, Burlington, and Otto Gent, Gladstone, Ill.; one sister, Edna Knotts, Sperry; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, with Ministers the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church.

The family will receive friends in Prugh's Chapel on Friday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. Friends may call at Prugh's Chapel after 8 a.m. Friday.

A memorial has been established for the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church.
