Nora Minerva Bruce, 96, of Morning Sun, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 1989, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Oct. 27, 1892, in Auburn, Pa., she was the daughter of David and Mary Shappel Hoffmeister. She married Frank Becker in June 1913 in Harrisbur, Pa. He died July 5, 1917. She then married Henry Bruce April 6, 1942. He died Jan. 1, 1963.

She had been employed as a banking clerk in Pennsylvania. She was employed as a state capital employee in Harrisburg. Pa., and as an assistant with the certified public accounting firm of Bruce and Bruce, Harrisburg, Pa. She was a 60 year member of the First Church of God, Harrisburg, Pa., and a member of the Y's Menettes, the WCSC and the First Presbyterian Church, Morning Sun. She taught a ladies Bible class and served on the YMCA Advisory Council.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary (Richard) Inghram, Morning Sun; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

Visitation will be after noon Tuesday at the Hagele & Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun.

The service for Mrs. Bruce will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hagele & Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun, with the Rev. Diane Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for a Mission Hospital Project in Bangladesh.
