MORNING SUN - H. Lorena Boysen, 79, a resident of the Wapello Nursing and Care Center, Wapello, died Saturday morning, Oct. 12, 1996, at Muscatine General Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eric Oliver officiating. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boysen was born March 27, 1917, in Cairo, a daughter of Harry and Hazel Jones Fletcher. She married Albert C. Boysen on Feb. 23, 1937, at Cairo.

She was a homemaker and had worked at the Kingsbury Inn, the Capitol Cafe, the IAAP, and for several years at the Colonial Manor, Columbus Junction.

She had been a member of the Cairo Evangelical Church, a member of the Wapello Veteran of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, and the Louisa County Farm Bureau. She had been active as a 4-H leader.

She enjoyed gardening, and helping on the farm, cooking, nature, nursing home residents, her grandchildren, sports, crafts, and making people laugh with her clever wit.

Survivors include a daughter, Hazel Anderson of Columbus Junction; two sons, Harold E. Boysen of Morning Sun, and Larry Boysen of Wapello; six grandchildren, David Boysen, Rhonda Pritchard, Brenda Wade, Aaron Boysen, Duane Boysen, and Adam Boysen; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Humphreys of Columbus Junction, and Verlee Stewart of Burlington; and two brothers, Ronald Fletcher of Grants, N.M., and Feryl Fletcher of Los Angeles, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Oct. 15, 1965, an infant son, a great-grandson, three sisters, Geneva, Nelda, and Ruth, and two brothers, Harold and Robert, and special friend, Gene Isett.
