Roy F. Strawhacker, age 65, died Friday at his home in Atkinson, Ill. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson, the Rev. Gerard VerHoye officiating. Burial followed at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Atkinson.

Visitation was Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.

Memorials may be left to the Atkinson Rescue Squad.

Roy was born May 25, 1933 in Oakville, Ia., the son of Mark C. and Lucille (Abbott) Strawhacker. He married Luelle VanWaes Stafford May 1, 1976 in Rock Island, Ill.

He farmed in the Oakville and Wapello, Ia. area and was then employed by Nelson Trucking in Mediapolis, retiring in 1977. He later worked at Atkinson Grain and Feed in Atkinson.

Survivors include his wife, Luella; four sons, Kevin Swafford, Jeff Aleander and Chris Alexander, all of Atkinson, and Doug Strawhacker, Bellnap, Ill.; 12 daughters, Dyann Strawhacker, Geneseo, Lana (Mrs. Paul) Davis, Atkinson, Kim (Mrs. Robert) Paige, Elmwood, Ill., Tammy (Mrs. Kelly) McVietty, Geneseo, Lori (Mrs. Tavo) Trujillo, Atkinson, Debrah (Mrs. Dennis) Christie, Geneseo, Debra Frymoyre, Pulaski, Ia., and Terry Appemzeller, Carla Strawhacker, Cindy Strawhacker and Dixie Garmon, all of Bloomfield, Ia.; three brothers, Donald Strawhacker, Burlington, Marion Strawhacker, Ft. Madison, and Russell Strawhacker, Biggsville, Ill.; and four sisters, Lois Foor, Wapello, Marilyn Mitton, Burlington, Joann Wehner, Independence, Iowa and Jean Hughes, Alabama; 26 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers and one grandson.
