WAPELLO - Harry A. Fletcher, 96, died Sunday night at the Burlington Medical Center, Burlington.

Services are Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Young officiating. Burial will be at the Wapello Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Fletcher was born Feb. 6, 1892 in Washington County, Iowa, a son of Roy and Alice Griffith Fletcher. He married Hazel Pearl Jones Nov. 17, 1909 in Columbus Junction. She died Nov. 29, 1965. He was a member of the Wapello I.O.O.F. Lodge.

He began his livelihood as a farmer then worked at the Louisa County Engineers office, the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Burlington, was an assessor for Louisa County, worked at the Loiusa County Conservation office and at retirement operated a shop where he sharpened saws.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald "Jiggs" of Grants, N.M.; and Feryl of Grenada Hills, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) Humphreys of Crawfordsville; Verlee Stewart of Wapello; Lorena Boysen of Morning Sun; and Ruth Keller of Great Falls, Mont.; 22 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, he is also preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, two sons, six grandchildren and two sisters.
