Alice M. Garland, 66, of Morning Sun, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1987, at Burlington Medical Center, after an extended illness.

She was born March 14, 1920, in Winfield, to Granville and Louise Marie Bahl Randoll. She married Charles D. Garland on Sept. 30, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo.

The Garlands farmed in the Morning Sun area. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Virginia Grove Club.

Surviving are her husband, of the home; three sons, Leland, Wapello, Marvin, Burlington, and Roger, Mediapolis; two sisters, Dorothy Fisher, Sugar Grove, Ill., and Mildred Bozman, Morning Sun; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Garland will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Morning Sun United Methodist Church, the Rev. Dick Clark officiating; burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the service on Tuesday. The Pierce Funeral Home, Morning Sun, is handling the arrangements.

A memorial has been established to the church and the Morning Sun Fire Department.
