Mary Cale, 63, of Conesville, Iowa, died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at her sister’s home in Conesville after a courageous battle with cancer.

The Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction is handling the arrangements for the Cale family. There will be no visitation or services. Memorial services will take place at a later date. Sympathy notes may be left to the Cale family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Mary Cale was born May 11, 1943 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Lucille (Elliott) Holcomb. On November 23, 1962,

Mary was united in marriage to Richard Dean Cale of Davenport, Iowa at the Island United Methodist Church of Muscatine. Mary was employed at Cummins Engine Co., Inc in Columbus, Indiana. Mary was active with the Conesville Watermelon Days Festival and worked closely with the building committee for the new Conesville Community Center. She enjoyed sewing and reading.

Mary will be dearly missed by her son, Richard Cale and wife, Kathy and grandchildren, Dana and Robert of Norwalk, Wisconsin; two grandsons, Travis and Cale Morin of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters, Carol Holcomb of Letts and Margaret (Maggie) Meeker of Conesville; and one brother, Robert Holcomb and his wife, Janice and their family of Olympia, Washington.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; her husband, Richard; her daughter, Rachel; and her mother and father-in-law.
