Shari Lynn Butler, age 46, of Ainsworth died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.
Mass of the Resurrection was held in conjunction with her mom’s service at 11:00 am Saturday, March 31, 2007 at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with Father Ed O’Melia officiating. Interment took place at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth. A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Shari’s family through the Web at www.jonesfh.com.

Shari was born April 1, 1960 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Billy Wade and Bonnie Jean (Norenberg) McFarland. She attended school at Ainsworth, Iowa and graduated from Highland School in 1978. Shari was united in marriage to Tony Butler on August 31, 1979 in Washington, Iowa. Shari worked at Alco and Goodwill in Washington. She is a member of St. James Catholic Church. Shari loved spending time with her family and friends and with her dogs, Ralphie and Roy.

Shari is survived by her husband, Tony Butler of Ainsworth; son, T.J. Butler of Ainsworth, Iowa; step-daughter, Donna Marie Hormel of West Liberty, two step-grandchildren, Chase Lee and Peyton Rose Hormel; brother, Robert Bruce McFarland and wife, Linda of Ainsworth; brother, Kevin Wade McFarland and wife, Dina of Riverside; brother, Jeffrey Allen McFarland and wife, Tracy of Kirksville, Missouri; sister, Julie Renee Harland and husband, Jeff of Kalona; sister, Stefanie Sue Swartzendruber and husband, Chris of Kalona; mother and father-in-law, Donna Lee and Dick Ross of Atalissa; nieces and nephews including Bonnie Kate McFarland, Amber, Tyler, and Breanna McFarland, Austin and Billie Jo McFarland, Kyle and Maddy Harland, Jake and Maggie Swartzendruber, 1 great-nephew, Quintyn Rocha; 7 step-nieces and nephews; and several step-great-nieces and nephews; her maternal grandmother, Arlene Norenberg of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1994; her mother on March 26, 2007 and one infant brother, Jamie in 1977.
