Arvie Wallace Connolly, age 62, of rural Morning Sun, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, January 23, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at Iowa City. The son of Wallace W. and Selma Eunice Coppes Connolly, he was born on June 10, 1944, at Mt. Pleasant. He married Deanna Sue Kellogg on May 10, 1975, at Kahoka, Missouri.

Arvie graduated from Wapello High School in 1963. He served in the US Army, primarily in Germany during the mid 1960s. He was a truck driver for the Louisa County road crew and enjoyed junking on the side. He also enjoyed antique tractors along with Old Threshers and the state fair. He enjoyed racing including NASCAR. Arvie loved to tell stories, especially jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Deanna; two daughters, Rita and Rick Sparrow of Winfield and Karrie and Mark Truitt of Wapello; a son, Kevin Connolly at home; a grandson, Doug Egbert of Winfield; three sisters, Neva Schofield of Morning Sun, Judy and Richard Robertson of Wapello, and Shirley and Larry Bickford of Wapello; and a brother, James and Judy Connolly of Wapello.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

The funeral ceremony for Arvie Connolly was held Friday, January 26, 2007, at the United Methodist Church at Morning Sun with Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefits of the Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service, the United Methodist Church at Morning Sun and the Morning Sun 4th of July Fund.
