Inez J. Cox, 89, of Letts, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. Funeral services for Inez were at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 5, 2007, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial was in the Letts Cemetery.

Visitation for Inez was held Sunday, March 4, 2007, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Muscatine. Memorials may be directed to the Mercy Foundation in Iowa City in memory of Inez. Sympathy notes may be left for the Cox family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Inez J. Mahaffe was born November 16, 1917, in Muscatine County, Iowa, the daughter of Alex J. and Nona E. (Myers) Mahaffey. On October 5, 1934, Inez was united in marriage to Harold W. Cox in Davenport. Inez worked for Thatcher Plastic of Muscatine for 28 years as a machine operator. Inez enjoyed cooking, baking, crafts, taking pictures and family get togethers.

Inez will be deeply missed by her husband, Harold of Letts; three daughters, JoAnn Luebke of Joliet, Illinois, Judy L. Ranson of Muscatine, and Deanna R. Stuart and her husband, Bill, of Letts; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; son-in-law, Robert Stephens of Wapello; special niece, Sandra Cox of Muscatine and special friends, Jerry and Marsha Lamp of Letts.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Linda S. Sprague, one granddaughter, Nancy Estabrook, one brother, and seven sisters.
