David D. Dodder, 62, of Letts, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at his home in Letts. Funeral services for David will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Geo.M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Muscatine, Iowa. Pastor Cathy Whitlatch will officiate. Burial will be in the Letts Cemetery. Following the services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Letts Community Center. Visitation for David will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2007 from 12:30 P.M. until service time at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of David. Sympathy notes may be left to the Dodder family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

David Dean Dodder was born June 3, 1944, in Muscatine, the son of J. Dean and Margery Aldine (Harbison) Dodder. David was owner and operator of Dodder Farms located in the Letts area as well as his own trucking business. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Chicago Cubs and NASCAR fan. In his earlier years, David enjoyed racing late model cars at the Columbus Junction and West Liberty Raceways.

David will be dearly missed by his mother, Margery of Columbus Junction; three children, Lisa Coffman and her husband, Brian of Leawood, Kansas, Jon Dodder and his wife, Shannon of Muscatine and Tracey Tikwart and her husband, John of Leawood, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Cali and Schuyler Coffman, Sean, Ryan and his wife, Angie, Casey and Megan Dodder, and Alden and Christian Tikwart; one brother, Joseph Dodder of Bakersfield, California; and a close friend, Angie Barnes of Letts.

He was preceded in death by his father.
