Margery A. Dodder, 85, of Columbus Junction, died Friday, September 21, 2007, at her home in Columbus Junction, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 10:00 A.M. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. Catherine Whitlatch of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Larry Robertson, Jerry Hamilton, Robert Dodder, Tom Harbison, Charlie Snyder and Doug Lee. Honorary casketbearers will be Ron Salveson, Dick Harbison, Jack Harbison II, Larry Fagerquist, Gil Lehman and Mark Stout. Burial will be in Letts Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church.

Visitation for Margery will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa City Hospice in memory of Margery. Margery A. Harbison was born on November 9, 1921, in Conesville, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Mildred (Ramer) Harbison. Margery attended Parsons College and on November 26, 1942, she was united in marriage to J. Dean Dodder in Kahoka, Missouri. She was a member of the Letts United Methodist Church and a past president of the Letts Jr. Federated Club and Chapter T of the T.T.T.

Margery worked as a secretary of the Letts Schools, in the scheduling department at Thatcher Glass and 16 years in the accounting department at Monsanto. She also had worked at the Village Shop of Sterneman’s Clothing and as House Director of Kappa Delta sorority at Iowa State University. Margery enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing bridge, socializing with friends and especially, spending time with her grandchildren.

Margery will be deeply missed by her son, Joseph Dodder of Bakersfield, California; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Coffman of Leawood, Kansas, Jon Dodder of Muscatine, Tracey Tikwart of Leawood, Kansas, Duke Dodder of Bakersfield, California and Boyd Dodder of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and her brother, Herbert Harbison Jr. (Stub) and his wife, Mildred of Morning Sun.

Margery was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. Dean; one son, David Dodder and one brother, Jack Harbison.
