Ellen K. Burcham, 55, passed away in her home in Longmont, Colo., on Sunday, October 21, 2001. She had struggled with cancer over the last few months. She was born in Wapello, Iowa, on March 16, 1946, to Donald and Donna Havenhill. Ellen was married to Dennis Burcham for 36 years.

Ellen lived in Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado. She resided in Longmont for the past five years. She was a homemaker for most of her life, raising five children. She also owned and operated the Yogi Bear Campground in Canon City, Colo. with her family for six years. Most recently, she worked for Concepts Direct as a manager.

Ellen enjoyed collecting teapots, growing roses, gardening, interior decorating, camping, long drives in the mountains, and spending time with her family and friends.

Ellen is survived by her husband Dennis; her children, Melani of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Timothy and his wife Beth of Boulder; Brian of Longmont; and Danelle of Greeley; grandson, Taylor, of Santa Fe; a sister, Sue Ranum (Mrs. Jim) of Waukon, Ia; and a brother, Billy Don Havenhill of Winnebago, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her son Kevin at age 20 in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Donna, her father, Donald, and her step-father Harold Cook.

Visitation was Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Howe Mortuary. The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the mortuary.
