Josephine Bunn, 87, dies at Bethesda Care Center

Mrs. Josephine Bunn, 87, died Saturday evening, January 3, 1981, at the Bethesda Care Center, Muscatine.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, at the Geo. M. Wittich funeral Home. James Leonard officiated with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery.

She was born October 7, 1893, in Muscatine the duaghter of William f. and Clara Miller Hathaway. She resided in Muscatine since 1945, having formerly resided at Winfield.

Her first marriage was to John M. Williams on June 3, 1914, in Muscatine and her second marriage was to William Bunn in June 1971, in Nashua, Iowa.

Mrs. Bunn was a member of the Mulford Evangelical Church and was a Gold Star Mother.

Survivors include her husband William E. Bunn of Muscatine; two sons Hugh V. Williams and Thomas W. Williams both of Muscatine; and five stepsons Fred, Hugh, Arthur, Jack and Norman Bunn all of Muscatine; one daughter Mrs. Lester (Marion) Jones of Crawfordsville; and five step-daughters Mrs. Cecil (Catherine) Gordon, Mrs. Harold (Eva) Titus and Mrs. Ronald (Patricia) Van Acker all of Muscatine, Mrs. John (Winnie) Carpenter of Letts and Mrs. Emma Burbank of Waterloo; two brothers Seward and Kenneth Hathaway both of Muscatine; and four sisters Mrs. Bessie Gillette of California, Mrs. Aleta Schuebel of Wyoming, Mrs. Goldie Waltman of Muscatine and Mrs. Louis (Lota) Gerdts of Atalissa.

She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1960, two sons, one daughter and five brothers.
