Julie Beth Buffington, age 23 of Winfield, died Sunday, October 6, 2002 at the University Hospital in Iowa City, following an auto accident.

The daughter of Mark and Judy (Bozarth) Buffington, she was born February 12, 1979 at Mt. Pleasant. On June 6, 1998 she was married to Rick Stanley at the Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She attended WACO School until 1989 and was a graduate of the Winfield-Mt. Union High School, class of 1997. She worked as a cook and CNA at the Danville Care Center; worked at the Jet Stop Oil Company in New London, and was currently employed by the Washington County Hospital. She was of the United Church of Christ Faith.

Survivors include: her parents of Winfield; one brother, Brad Buffinton and his wife, Sarah of Streamwood, Illinois and grandparents, Glendean and Henry Sexton of Columbus Junction.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles Craig Buffington, Keith Bozarth, Violet Maginnis, and an aunt Vicki Bozarth Howard.

Fuenral services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the Winfield First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jonna Jensen officiating. Interment will follow at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. at the Honts Fuenral Home in Winfield, there will be no family visitation.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City.
