Carl Buffington Called By Death

Ora Carl Buffington, son of Carson and Maria Jones Buffington, was born October 8, 1882 and died November 26, 1952, aged 70 years, one month and 18 days, living his entire life on the Buffington homestead.

July 9, 1902, he was married to Lois A. Jennings. Last July 9 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in the beautiful home which has grown up around them as they have reared their fine family of six sons and one daughter.

Carl was a member of E.U.B. church of Spring Run. His passing leaves a vacant place in the gatherings of friends, neighbors and relatives. Many worthy causes, and friends in need of help; bear testimony to his generous gifts and good neighbor deeds.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, one sister, Lula; and one brother, Gear. Also two grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Ura Davis, Crawfordsville, Iowa; five sons: Clinton, of Perry, Iowa; Layton of Crawfordsville, Iowa; Rex of Wapello, Iowa; Kenneth and Gerald of Columbus Junction, Iowa. Also an aged uncle, Marshall Jones of Ottumwa, Iowa; 3 nieces and __ nephews, 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
