Winifred Elvira “Winnie” Lauderdale, age 86 of Winfield, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center. The daughter of Syrrel and Mary (Rich) Whitaker, she was born March 6, 1920 near Brighton, Iowa. On October 23, 1937 she married Renald Hollis Lauderdale. She was employed at the Washington Calendar Factory, was a caregiver for the Tom Huston family, and retired from Owens Brush in Iowa City. She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield; was a member of the Women of the Moose; was a former member of the Wyman Community Club and the Spring Run Ladies Group.

Survivors include: her husband of Winfield; two sons, Ronald (Georgia) Lauderdale of Tempe, Arizona; Richard (Cathy) Lauderdale of Winfield; one daughter, Mary (Harold) Sens, Tonto Basin, Arizona; nine great-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren; four brothers, Russell, Clarence, Syrrel, Jr., and Lester; two sisters, Jerry Heston and Hazel Greiner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, with the Rev. William Morehouse officiating; interment followed at the Conesville Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Sunrise Terrace Care Center.
