Services for Gerald C. "Bronc" Breneman were held Wednesday, June 25, 1980, at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction.

Breneman, 66, died Monday at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Officiating at the service was Rev. Darrell Robertson, with burial at the Columbus City Cemetery. Casket bearers included Doug, Robbie, Dan and Ed Peters, Mark Duncan and Tom Peters. Honorary casket bearers were Paul Masonholder and Archie Norris.

Darrell and Pat Robertson provided special music with Donna Belle Hughes accompanying. Floral attendants were Dorothy Thomas and Mary Bell.

"Bronc" was born on April 2, 1914, at Columbus Junction, the son of George and Mae Edgington Breneman.

He graduated in 1932 from Columbus Junction High School. He married Pauline Peters on March 28, 1938, at Palmyra, Missouri. He and Pauline became the parents of Rita, now Mrs. Dennis Ballard of Columbia, Missouri, and Jerry, who was killed in an accident on February 27, 1965.

Mr. Breneman worked for Cargill for many years and owned and operated Your Market, a local grocery in Columbus Junction, for about 16 years with his wife Pauline. He was a member of the Columbus City Lodge 107 AF & AM the Davenport Consistory, Kaaba Shrine and the Cotter United Presbyterian Church.

Surivvors include his wife; his daughter, Rita; three grandchildren; one brother, Albert, of Frankewing, Tennessee. His parents, a brother, George, his sister, Marie, and son Jerry preceded him in death.
