Dorothy Belle Branscom

Dorothy Branscom, age 76, of Grandview, Iowa, died Thursday, February 1, 1996, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.

Dorothy Belle Boggs was born July 31, 1919, in Valley Junction, Iowa to Clarence and Ruby Jane Martin Boggs. Dorothy retired from Hon industries in 1986 after twenty years of service. She was a member of the Davenport Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge, Muscatine Chapter.

Dorothy is survived by four sons: Jim Branscom, Bloomsburg, Pa., Joe Branscom, Topeka, Kansas, George Branscom, Queen City, Missouri, and Lonnie Goodwin, Grandview, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Mary J. Brown Mehalovich, Johnson, Iowa; and one step-son, Bob Goodwin, Tupelo, Mississippi. There are 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Davis, Davenport, and Odessa Gillespie, Queen City, Missouri.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, and great-grandson, brother and sister.

A memorial has been established for the Louisa County Public Health Nursing and the Home Caring.
