Albert Richard "Dick" Bozman, 72 of rural Wapello, Iowa died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at his residence. The son of Doyle and Marian Mewhirter Bozman, he was born June 8, 1934, in Wapello. He was married to Marilyn Todd and they were later divorced. On Aug. 19, 1999, he married Elaine Bierwirth at Nashua, Iowa.

He was a graduate of the Morning Sun High School, class of 1952, and attended Iowa Weslyan College, Iowa State University and Mt. San Antonio in California. He served in the US Army in Germany after the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Hays-Scott American Legion Post in Morning Sun. He worked in various sales positions and was a farmer. He enjoyed traveling and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Elaine of Wapello; two sons, Jeff Bozman of LeClaire, Iowa and Brian Bozman of Des Moines; two daughters, Sandy Kerr of Wapello and Rochelle Bozman of Atlanta, Ga.; one step-daughter, Becky Hjellming of Wheaton, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Roger Bozman, of Moline, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob Bozman.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday Sept. 7, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun, with the Rev. James Huston conducting the service. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun, with a Military Flag Presentation.

Visitation was Wednesday at the First United Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun, where the family met with friends from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials were established for the Mellinger Public Library, the Morning Sun Community Ambulance and the Morning Sun Fire Dept.

Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun is in charge of the arrangements.
