Robert D. "Bob" Bozman, 70, of Morning Sun, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at Iowa City. The son of Doyle and Marian Bozman, he was born April 25, 1931, at Morning Sun.

Being born and raised in Morning Sun, he was a 1949 Morning Sun High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. he worked for many years at the J.I. Case Plant in Burlington and retired in 1988.

He married Mildred "Millie" Randoll on Oct. 4, 1952, at Morning Sun. He was of the Prostestant faith and had enjoyed traveling, camping, driving the school bus to get the kids to sporting events and attending the events of his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family.

Bob was a member of the American Legion Hays Scott Post No. 112 of Morning Sun, the Morning Sun Lions Club, and the Travelin' Tigers Camping Club.

Survivors include his wife, Millie; two daughters, Carrie and Chuck Richardson of Morning Sun and Judy and Sonny Palmer of Winfield; six grandchildren, Alicia, Missy, Amanda, Kevin, Anthony, and Jessica; a future grandson-in-law, David; two brothers, Roger Bozman of Moline, Ill., and Dick Bozman of Morning Sun; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters, and an infant son.

The funeral ceremony for Robert Bozman was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun with the Rev. Jack Edmisson officiating. Burial followed at the Elmwood Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Hays Scott Post No. 112. Pallbearers were Ken Gray, Rex Humiston, Art Hamm, Rich Shumaker, Brad Griffith, and Dean Mumme. The honorary bearers were Roger Heitmeier, Jack Wheeler, Lon Royer and Harold McElhinney. Pamela Butler provided the organ music.

Visitation was Friday at the funeral home where the family met with friends in the evening.

In lieu of flowers a general memorial fund was established.
