Micheal Brandon Died in Naval Service

Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meeker that Michael Brandon, 21, of Missouri Valley, son of former Columbus Community Jr. High teacher and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Brandon, died suddenly at San Diego, California where he was serving in the U.S. Navy.

Michael had enlisted in the Navy recently and had been on active duty for only about two weeks when he was stricken fatally ill.

He was born June 10, 1951 at Kirksville, Mo. He was graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1969. He was a two year graduate of Clarinda, Iowa Community Junior College. He was a member of United Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Christine, a Junior at Maryville, Mo., College, Stephanie, a Junior at Missouri Valley High School, Anne, 8 1/2 month old and a brother Stephen, 7th grade, all of Missouri Valley; maternal and paternal grandparents.
