Travis Lee Bradley, 14, dies

Travis Lee Bradley, 14, of RR 2, Wapello, died at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 1985, at University Hospital, Iowa City, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound which had occurred at his home.

He wa born June 6, 1970, at Fairfield, the son of David A. and Linda Slonaker Bradley. He was a freshman student at Wapello High School and vice-president of his class. He had participated in football and track. His hobbies were sports, collectibles, baseball and collecting comic books. The family has lived in Wapello since 1972 with previous residence in Jefferson County.

He is survived by his parents and one sister, Shelby Bradley of Ottumwa; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Bradley of Libertyville and Mr. and Mrs. Percy Slonaker of Birmingham, Iowa; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Russell and Mrs. Eva Barber all of Fairfield.

Services were 2 p.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Duane Olson officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorial to University Hospital Children's Ward, Iowa City, for toys.
