Wapello Republican, Nov. 12, 1992

Marian E. Bozman, age 92, Morning Sun, died November 4, 1992 at the Morning Sun Care Center.

The daughter of Robert and Phoebe (Dawdy) Mewhirter, she was born December 24, 1899 at Cairo, IA. On March 30, 1929 she married Albert Doyle Bozman at Burlington; he died September 11, 1980.

She was a graduate of Morning Sun High School; attended University of Iowa; she farmed with her husband, and also had been employed at Mental Health Institute in Mt. Pleasant and at the Louisa County Home; she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wapello; a member of the O.E.S. #257 of Wapello; and the Hayes Scott American Legion Auxillary of Morning Sun.

Survivors include: 3 sons; Robert of Morning Sun; Richard of Mediapolis and Roger of Moline, Illinois; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, Jennie, Mabel, and Grace.

Funeral services were held Saturday November 7, 1992 at 2:30 p.m. from Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun, with Rev. Bill Young officiating. Music was provided by Pam Butler, organist. Honorary bearers were Ben Simmons, Hoyt Cummings, Milos Karagin, William H. Matthews, George Taylor; casket bearers were Richard Morris, Mike Karagin, Harold McElhinney, Les Perkins, Chuck Simmons, and Jack Wheeler. Flower attendant was Marjorie Wheeler. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery.

An Order of Eastern Star service was held Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. by the Wapello Chapter #257. A general memorial has been established.
