Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Columbus Junction. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. today, funeral home.

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - Merry Lois Boyd, 89, Columbus Junction, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Colonial Manor Care Center.

The Rev. Cathy Whitlatch will officiate the services. Burial will be at the Columbus City Cemetery.

In lier of Flowers, memorials may be directed to Columbus Junction United Methodist Church or Colonial Manor Care Center. Online condolences may be left for the Boyd family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Mrs. Boyd was born April 20, 1916, in Ainsworth, the daughter of Glen and Edna Lillian Moore Sands. She married Willie Boyd June 19, 1937, in Washington. He preceded her in death in 1990.

She was a 1934 graduate of Ainsworth High School.

She was a homemaker. She was also an active member of Columbus Junction United Methodist Church and an avid quilter.

Survivors include a son, Larry Boyd and wife Sheila of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter, Merry Wasson and husband Tom of Columbus Junction; three brothers, James William and wife Kathleen of Mission, Texas, Dick Sands and wife Barbara of Morning Sun and Sam Sands and wife Rita of Columbus Junction; three sisters, Charlotte Morrison of Columbus Junction, Jean Wykert and husband Ray of Oakville and Joan Grim and husband Everett of Nichols; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Robert R. Sands; and two sisters, Myrna Hazelett and an infant sister.
