Mrs. J.W. Boyd Died December 5th

Funeral services were held at the Stacy Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, Tuesday, December 7, 1965 at 10:30 a.m. for Mrs. J.W. Boyd who passed away at her apartment at 208 East Second Street, Washington, Iowa on Sunday, December 5. She had come to Washington from her home near Columbus Junction a few weeks ago to spend the winter. Rev. Clifford Ramsdale of Washington was in charge. Burial was in the Columbus City cemetery.

Casketbearers were James Jones, Raymond Coon, Lonnie Todd, E.H. Hoben, William Podaril and Alvin Wehr.

Mrs. B.O.Roundy was organist and played several selections.

Mary Leota Moorman was born in Union Township, Louisa County, Iowa, March 14, 1883, the daughter of John W. and Rebecca Jane Rineley Moorman. She was married to John Wilfred Boyd on December 18, 1901 and settled on a farm a short distance from her parents' home. Mr. Boyd preceded her in death November 25, 1957.

She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Harold L. Boyd of Washington, Iowa and Harry W. Boyd of Columbus Junction and one daughter, Mrs Harold A. (Elma) Mitchell of College Springs, Iowa; three grandchildren, Daniel H. Boyd of Columbus Junction, Mrs. Sherman Burns of Maquoketa and Mrs. Jerry Bell of Columbus Junction, eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Frank Leffler of Washington.
