Mrs. Ralph W. Boyd Funeral

Mrs. Ralph W. Boyd, 215 1/2 North Marion Avenue, Washington, Iowa, died Monday morning, January 30, 1978, at Washington County Hospital at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 3 days. She had been in failing health for some time.

Hazel Alma Whetstine was born November 27, 1899, at Haskins, the daughter of Newton and Narilla Statler Whetstine. She was reared and educated in the Harris community.

On January 25, 1922, she married Ralph W. Boyd at Washignton. He died January 2, 1971.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and United Presbyterian Church and had worked in the Haskins Savings Bank before her marriage.

She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Cleo (Gladys) Orris of Columbus Junction and Mrs. Milo (Donna) Orris of Washington, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. John Maher of West Branch.

Funeral services were held Thrusday, February 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. William H. Kettlitz officiating. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery at Washington.
