Elizabeth Arlene Davis, 75, Route 3, Box 89A, Columbus Junction, died January 25 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

Services were January 28 at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Linda (Kitch) Shatzer of Cotter Presbyterian Church presiding.

The organist was Donna Bell Hughes. Vocalists were Brian and Christie Cummings.

Burial was at Cambrian Cemetery, Columbus City. Pallbearers were Dr. Randall T. Davis, Robert G. Davis, Bruce Davis, Tom Harris, Bill Podarill and Gary Bennett.

Mrs. Davis was born Sept. 30, 1915 in Keota, daughter of Wayne C. and Ceora Arnold Lyle.

She married J. Hayden Davis at Indianola on June 8, 1939, and lived in Columbus Junction for more than 50 years.

Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Keota High School and William Penn College at Oskaloosa, after which she taught home economics and commercial subjects prior to her marriage.

She also taught at Cotter and was a secretary there for 13 years, retiring in 1974.

She was a long standing member and very active in the Cotter Guild of the Cotter Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Columbus Junction Chapter of P.E.O., Eastern Star and County Line Club.

Survivors include her husband; daughter Bette Ann Harris, her husband Thomas and their daughter Shea Lynn, all of Yorkville, Ill.; nieces and nephews Robert G. and Lori Davis and their son Jeremy, and Dr. Randall T. and Cindy Davis; and a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Burdette and Anita Stange Davis and Dorothy Davis Plett.
