Mrs. Elizabeth Davis Died After Long Illness

Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, 78, of Columbus Junction, died Thursday, June 2, 1969 at her home after a long illness.

Elizabeth Peters was born June 2, 1890, at Columbus Junction, the daughter of Richard and Gwen Davies Peters, and had spent most of her life in this community. She married John H. Davis. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband; daughters, Mrs. W.A. Sharer (Lenore), Marshalltown; Miss Lucile Davis, Columbus Junction; Mrs. Dale Kennedy (Maxine) Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Robert Jacobs (Karlyn), Muscatine; a brother, Dan Peters, Maxwell; sisters, Mrs. Ruth Arthur, Ainsworth; and Mrs. Mary Hughes, Columbus Junction; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and a daughter in infancy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Presbyterian Church in Columbus Junction.

The Rev. E.B. Meyer of Muscatine officiated. Mrs. Beryl Roundy was the organist.

Pallbearers were Bill Robertson, Gordon Stone, Cal Duncan, Dennis Peters, Clair Holmes and Joe Johnson.

Interment was at the Cambrian Cemetery.

The Riley Funeral Home of Muscatine was in charge of arrangements.
