M. Eleanor Davis

Funeral services for 81 year old M. Eleanor Davis, of Crawfordsville were held on Tuesday, March 29, 1994, at 2 p.m. at the Salem Welsh United Presbyterian Church, Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Jim Edwards officiating. Marilyn Rees was the organist and Gladys Davis the soloist. Casket bearers were Ed Smith, Richard Griffith, Mervin Blythe, Garry Grelk, Craig Williams, and Melvin Gipple. Burial was in the Cambrian Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor died Saturday, March 26, 1994, at her home.

Mary Eleanor Griffith was born November 20, 1912, in Louisa County to Edward Faulkes and Mary Agnes Williams Griffiths. She married Alfred Evans Davis February 16, 1937, in Columbus Junction. Eleanor was a homemaker and life member of the Salem Welsh United Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Salem U.P. Women, Farm Bureau Women, and the Wyman Community Club. Eleanor served as treasurer of several of these groups.

Survivors include: a daughter, Ms. Margaret Patterson, Cedar Rapids; three sons, Gomer Davis, Robert Davis, Dallas Davis, all of Crawfordsville. There are 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Edward Griffith and David Griffith, both of Crawfordsville and two sisters, Mrs. Wesley (Elsie) Smith Jr., Columbus Junction and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Williams of Trivoli, Il.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren and a sister.
