MORNING SUN, Iowa - Margaret M. Bowers, 93, resident of the Morning Sun Care Center, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at the care center.

Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery.

Visitation is 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at he Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun. A memorial has been established for the Morning Sun Care Center.

Mrs. Bowers was born July 15, 1910, in Muscatine, the daughter of Charles and Anna Bartonhagen Samuels. She married Thurman "Ginger" Bowers May 15, 1933. He preceded her in death May 16, 1977.

She and her husband farmed in the Winfield and Morning Sun communities before retiring to Florida. She moved to the Morning Sun Care Center in 2002.

Survivors include Melvin Bowers of Port Byron, Ill.; a sister, Miriam McConahay of Muscatine; two brothers, Dean Samuels of Wapello and Robert Samuels of Morning Sun; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Esther, Vera, Helen and Viola; and three brothers, Raymond, Carl and Glenn.
