Irene Bowen of Waterloo dies January 16

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 1982, at the Chapel of Memories West, 1024 W. 4th, Waterloo, for Mrs. Irene Bowen, 79, of Waterloo. Mrs. Bowen died Saturday, January 16, 1982, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

She was born October 25, 1902, at Holland, Iowa and married Al Bowen who died in 1976.

Survivors include one son, Gordon Bowen, Columbus Junction, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Kennedy, Lafayette, Louisiana, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.

Mrs. Bowen had served as a Red Cross volunteer for 30 years.
