Joseph Boulton, 75, of Letts, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1987, at his home.

Born Sept. 17, 1912, at rural Columbus Junction, he was the son of Edward and Amanda Schafer Boulton. He married Lola Selser June 21, 1929, at Grandview. She died March 18, 1987.

He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the United Methodist Church, Letts.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Doris (DeWayne) Finke, Columbus Junction, Mrs. Jacky (Ed) Stuhr, Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Sharrelle (Gary) Larson, Letts; one son, Bobby Boulton, Rives Junction, Mich.; two sisters, Emma Walsinger, Winfield, and Stella Hall, Muscatine; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A brother also preceded him in death. Visitation was held at Stacy Lewis Funeral Chapel. A memorial has been established.

Services were Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Donald Campbell of the Letts United Methodist Church officiated. Organist was Donna Belle Hughes. Pallbearers were Greg O'Toole, Mark Finke, Mitch Stuhr, Mike Hall, Rick Boulton, Rodney Wigent, Scott Stuhr and John Bashoe. Burial was at the Columbus City Cemtery.
