Former resident, Eva Blair, dies in Moline

Mrs. Eva Laurene Blair, 79, Rt.2, Lake Canyada, Davenport, died Saturday, April 3, at the Lutheran Hospital, Moline, Illinois, following an extended illness.

Burial was at 2 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the Indian Creek Cemetery in Columbus Junction. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the Riley Funeral Home. The Reverend Don campbell officated.

The daughter of Robert S. and Edith L. Latta McDaniel, she was born April 25, 1902, in Louisa County. Formerly of the Anamosa and Columbus Junction areas, she had resided in Davenport for the last seven years.

Her marriage to Merle O. Blair took place June 1, 1920, in Louisa County. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Anamosa. She was also a member of the American Auxiliary and was active in the Democratic Party. Mrs. Blair was a former employee of the Bell Telephone Company in Columbus Junction.

Survivors include one son, Dean E. Blair of Davenport and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 24, 1975, one son and two brothers.
