Wilma Z. Dacy, 76 of Mediapolis, Iowa died Friday Jan. 26, 2007, at Prairie Ridge Care Center. The daughter of Ralph and Luvurne Hazen Young, she was born March 19, 1930, near Washington. On June 15, 1950, she married William Dacy in Columbus Junction; he died Oct. 26, 1989. She was a 1949 graduate of the Ainsworth High School. She worked at the Ainsworth 4-Corners, Brauns Steak house, I.A.A.P., the Mediapolis Residential Care Facility, Elmview Care Center in Burlington, and did private duty healthcare.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include four daughters; Margaret Smith of Mediapolis,; Ruth Dacy of Phoenix Ariz; Mary Simpson of Fairfield, Ill.; Nancy Dacy of Carthage, Ill.; four sons; William Jr. of Lake Jackson, Texas; Patrick of Burlington; Joseph of Mediapolis; Paul of Grandview; 14 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Young Jr. of Wellman; Delbert Young of Ainsworth; and a half sister, Martha Latta of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son-in-law, a grandson and one brother.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis.

A prayer service followed at 7 p.m. After the service, cremation was accorded. Inurnment to be in the Kossuth Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial was established in her name.
