William F. Dacy, age 67, RR1, Mediapolis, died Thursday, October 26 at the University Hospitals in Iowa City. The son of William and Marie (Knoetcel) Dacy, he was born June 26, 1922 at Wentworth, Missouri. On June 15, 1950 he married Wilma Young at Columbus Junction, Iowa. He had been employed as a miner at the U.S. Gypsum plant prior to ill health. He was of the Catholic faith and has attended St. Mary’s at Dodgeville in earlier years.

He is survived by wife Wilma, Mediapolis; 4 daughters, Margaret Smith, Mediapolis, Ruth DeLarca, Phoenix, Arizona, Mary Simpson, New London, Iowa and Nancy Linder, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 4 sons, William Jr., Lake Jackson, Texas, Patrick, Burlington, Joseph, Mediapolis and Paul Wapello; 13 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Bob and James Dacy, both of Pierce City, Missouri, Don Dacy of Kansas and Roy Dacy, Vacaville, California; 5 sisters, Louise Henry, Sunnyvale, California, Virginia Kimber, Poughkeepsie, New York, Jean Wagner, Apple Valley, California, Rita Goff, Newport News, Virginia and Rose Strick, Springfield, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, John Dacy.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 30 at 10:30 a.m. from the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis, with the Rev. Jim Garrett. Music was provided by Korkee Carruthers, organist. Casket bearers were William Dacy, Patrick Dacy, Joseph Dacy, Paul Dacy, James Smith, Delbert Young.

Interment was in the Kossuth Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his name.
