Lorene M. Bishop, 90, of Tigard, Ore., formerly of Muscatine, died Monday morning, May 12, 2003, at the Paloma Unit of Tigard Rehabilitation and Care Center.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will be Greenwood Cemetery, Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Association.

Mrs. Bishop was born April 3, 1913, in Lone Tree, Iowa, to Grover C. and Effie Strong Fountain. She married George Brase on Sept. 8, 1928, in Muscatine. He died Nov. 7, 1932. She later married Leonard Bishop on Aug. 15, 1939. He died Jan. 7, 1970.

Mrs. Bishop lived in the Muscatine area until 1979 when she moved to the Beaverton, Ore. area.

She was a longtime member of Mulford Evangelical Free Church in Muscatine.

Surviving are three sons, Jack Brase of Iowa City, Iowa, Bernard Brase of Muscatine, Leland Brase,of Beaverton, Ore.; one daughter, Deborah Schmeiser of Las Vegas, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Fry of Moline, Ill., Mrs. Ruby Waters macGowan of Iowa City and Mrs. Joyce Snyder of Fredonia.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters, one grandson and one great-great-granddaughter.
