Mrs. Hazel Billings Funeral Rites Suday, April 4, 1971

Mrs. Charles (Hazel Belle) Billings daughter of Ora and Dora Hesser Felton, was born in Muscatine Community, Iowa, December 29, 1888, and passed away at 9:30 p.m. April 1, 1971, in Burlington, at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 2 days.

She was united in marriage to Charles E. Billings in Nichols, Iowa, March 25, 1908. They lived in Muscatine County until 1927 when they moved to Columbus Junction. Her husband passed away November 13, 1957. She continued to live in Columbus Junction until thirteen years ago when she moved to Mt. Pleasant to make her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Cecil Billings.

She was a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church a 50 year member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge and was a past Noble Grand of the Silver Leaf Rebekah Lodge in Columbus Junction.

Mrs. Billings is survivied by a son, Cecil Billings of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Helen) Thiering and Mrs. Carl (Evelyn) Braddy of Davenport; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Fuenral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Harold N. Olson officiating. Cecil Schlichting was organist and Mrs. R.F. Morrison Jr. sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset". Casket bearers were Robert Billings, Charles Billings, Thomas DeVore, Darrel Willey, Jack Wolford and Gene DeVilder.

Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.
