Estella May Bieri, age 81, formerly of the Wapello and Grandview communities, died Sunday morning, October 29, 2000 at Iowa Masonic Health Facility at Bettendorf where she had currently resided. The daughter of Charles Franklin and Lettie Westerman Briggs, she was born October 31, 1918 at Wapello. She married Harlan Beik on April 8, 1939 at Nashua, Iowa. He died July 1, 1976. She and Raymond Bieri were married on September 8, 1979, also at Nashua. He died on December 20, 1990.

She was a graduate of the Letts High School in 1936. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church. She had also been a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Letts Chapter and later the Wapello Chapter. She was also a member of the Keep Pace Club and had enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include her daughter, Judith Kay and Denis Lalonde of East Moline, Illinois and a half sister, Madelyn Tisor of Mediapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.

The family met with friends Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.

The funeral ceremony for Estella Bieri was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2000, at the Grandview Community Bible Church with Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Music was provided by Marily Schlutz as the organist and Nancy McGill and Mike McGill as vocalists. Burial followed at the Granview Cemetery. The casket bearers included Scot Bieri, David Bieri, Paul Stineman, Mike McGill, Bob Schlutz, and Wayne McConahay.

A memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Grandview Community Bible Church and the Iowa Masonic Health Facility of Bettendorf.
