Raymond A. Bieri, age 78, of Wapello, Iowa, died Thursday evening, December 20, 1990 at Burlington Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1912 in Drury Township, Rock Island, County, Illinois, the son of Joe and Martha Ziegenhorn Bieri. He married Mildred Beck in 1932. She died in November of 1966. He married Violet Jack December 2, 1968. She died October 30, 1978. He married Stella Beik on September 8, 1979.

He had attended schools in Illinois and then attended Brown's Business College in Muscatine, Iowa. He had farmed in the Grandview area.

Ray was a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church where he had served as a deacon and also a church board member. He was a 50 year member of the Triangular Lodge #245 A.F. & A.M. of Letts, a member of the KAABA Shrine, a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and had preciously served on the Louisa County Compensation Board, the Louisa County Board of Health, the Grandview School Board, and as a Grandview Township Trustee.

Survivors include his wife, Stella; three sons, Jack, Joe and Jim, all of Letts; a step-daughter, Judy Lalonde of East Moline, Ill.; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Bieri of Mt. Rose, Colorado; and a brother Richard Bieri of Letts. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence and an infant brother Joe, Jr.; and one sister, Luella.

Funeral service for Raymond Bieri was held at the Grandview Community Bible Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 1990 with the Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Leah Rae Gast provided the organ music and Millie Bieri sang "How Great Thou Art." The Honorary Bearers were Russell Gast, Keith Beik, Warren Jennings and Dale Schlutz. The Casket Bearers were Scot Bieri, David Bieri, Everett Bieri, Lloyd Lee, Merle Bieri, Earl McGill, Sheldon Bieri and Joe Kemp. Burial followed at the Grandview Cemetery. The family met with friends Saturday afternoon and evening at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello where Masonic Services were held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
