Kenneth Ray Bohling, 63, of Solon, Iowa, formerly of Iowa City, died at the Solon Nursing Care Center, Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City, with the Rev. Renee Lunemann officiating. A reception followed at the Solon United Methodist Church. Visitation was Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will also be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette, Wisc. Burial will be at the Amberg Cemetery, Amberg, Wisc.

Memorials may be directed to the Solon Care Center.

Mr. Bohling was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Pembine, Wisc., the son of Wilbur and Dora Collette Bohling.

He was a 1957 graduate of Marinette High School, served in the National Guard, and had been employed by the Monsanto Co. in Muscatine until his retirement in 1990.

He resided in Wapello for more than 27 years, where he was active with the Wapello Volunteer Fire Department. He moved to the Iowa City and Solon area in 1994.

He is survived by his three children, Kenneth Cliff Bohling and his wife Jackie of Solon and their children, April, Matthew, Danielle, Brooke and Whitney; Cindy Evans and her husband Randy of Iowa City and their children, Nic, Mitch, Natalie and Andrew; and Terry Bohling and his wife Vonda of Bonaire, Ga., and their child, Courtney; two sisters, Judy Anderson and her husband Carl of Menominee, Mich., Sue Lorenz and her husband Bill of Peshtigo, Wisc.; one brother, Marvin Bohling and his wife Jo of Richmond, Wash., three step-daughters and their children, Margie Wollenhaupt and her husband Kent of Wapello, Jackie Bohling and her husband K. Cliff of Solon, and Melanie Parrman and her husband Murray of Stockton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Larry.
