Muscatine Journal, Sept. 13, 1989

Louise Margaret Boehl, 96, 1835 Lucas St., died early Tuesday at Muscatine General Hospital.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran church with the Rev. Leif Pohl officiating. Organist will be Mrs. I.H. Petersen. Pallbearers will be George Michaels, Richard Forte, and Everett, Wayne and Madison Tomfeld. Burial will be at Wagner Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home.

Memorials made to Grace Lutheran Church of which she was one of the oldest members and a 50-year member.

Mrs. Boehl was born March 28, 1893 in Louisa County, Iowa, a daughter of John J. And Anna Catherine Caroline Schmidt Tomfeld. She has lived in the same house since 1923 and had maintained her home until her death.

Her marriage to Arthur Otto Boehl took place Feb. 28, 1923 in Muscatine.

Her lifelong loves were needlework, quilting, piano and gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clayton J. (Marjorie) Colbert of St. Paul; and Mrs. Ladd W. (Carol) Steinmetz of Muscatine; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1966; one granddaughter and five brothers.
