Ronald M. Ament, 1922-2005, died Nov. 12, 2005, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township, Mich.

Born to Marshall D. Ament and Daisy A. Nearhood on Jan. 23, 1922, in Burlington, Iowa, he lived in the Wapello area while growing up. He married Arsema F. McKeever of Morning Sun, on May 9, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. She died in 1992.

After serving in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 28, 1942, to Dec. 7, 1945, he worked primarily in automotive repair until his retirement in 1988.

Survivors include a brother, Leslie N. Ament of Burleson, Texas and a sister, Doris Barinski of White Cloud, Mich.; two daughters; Gail A. Waugaman of Chesterfield, Mich., and Marsha D. Ament of Lyman, Neb.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The body has been cremated. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at the Wapello Cemetery in Wapello with the Rev. Scott Smith officiating.

Besides his wife, his parents and a brother, Robert V. Ament, preceded him in death.

The Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello provided the local arrangements.
