Mrs. Mary M. Bond Funeral Rites

Mrs. Mary Maud Bond of Columbus City, Iowa, passed away Thursday evening, November 21, 1963 at Mercy hospital, Council Bluffs, Iowa, following a short illness.

Mrs. Bond was born at Springfield, Ohio, November 27, 1879 and was aged 83 years, 11 months adnd 24 days.

She was the daughter of George W. and Jane Gregg Brittin.

She has been a resident of Columbus City the past 35 years. She went to Council Bluffs, September 12th of this year to live with a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Sarah) Winstone, Trailor City. She was the widow of the late Calvin O. Bond to whom she was married, May 15, 1894. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors besides Mrs. Winstone, include five other daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Alta) Alloway, Columbus city, Iowa; Mrs. Fred (Olive) Pennell, Benzonie, Michigan; Mrs. Chris (Alice) Olson, Marshalltown, Iowa; Mrs. William (Esther) Wilcox, Davenport, Iowa, Mrs Leonard (Rachel) Schumacher, also of Davenport, Iowa; Four sons, Chester Bond, Columbus City, Iowa; Samuel Bond, Davenport, Iowa; David Bond, Marshalltown, Iowa; Eli Richard Bond, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, also 70 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren. Two brothers, William Brittin and Clarence Brittin, both of Hamilton, Ohio.

The body was brought to the Stacy Funeral Home in Columbus Junction where services were held at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon and were conducted by the Rev. Wayne Ryan, pastor of the Free Methodist Church. Music was by Mrs. B.O. Roundy.

Casket bearers were Eugene Olsen, Robert Tucker, Lloyd Tucker, David Bond Jr., Raymond Bond and Merlin Alloway.

Burial in the Columbus City cemetery.
