Elva Bonnichsen, 90, of Wapello dies

Elva B. Bonnichsen, 90, of Wapello died Saturday, March 14, 1981, at the Wapello Nursing Home.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello. Burial was in the Indian Creek Cemetery near Wapello.

Elva Foster married T. Fred Bonnichsen in 1910 in Muscatine. He died in 1966. The couple farmed near Grandview before retiring and moving to Wapello.

She was a member of the Wapello United Methodist Church.

Survivors include daughters Carol Schafer, Grandview; Mrs. Ralph (Frances) McKean, Rawlins, Wyoming; Mrs. Robert (Joanne) Garlock, Urbandale, and Mrs. Robert (Faithe) Walters, Eldora; sons, Raymond and Royce, both of Columbus Junction; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harlan Foster, Columbus Junction.
